Our Quarterly Seasonal Gatherings

GOBS Collective's quarterly meet-ups brought Nottingham's poetry community together throughout the seasons, creating opportunities to connect, collaborate, share work and celebrate creativity.

From cosy winter gatherings to outdoor summer adventures, each event offered something different, combining poetry, performance, creative workshops and opportunities to meet fellow writers and artists. The meet-ups welcomed poets, performers and curious newcomers alike, providing accessible, supportive spaces where people could experiment, build confidence and feel part of a creative community.

Winter Warm-ups
Our Winter Warm-ups offered a welcoming space to reconnect during the colder months in Castle Rock Brewery’s Embankment Pub. Bringing together poetry, creative activities, performances and conversation, these gatherings encouraged reflection, inspiration and connection at the beginning of each year.

Spring Spruce
Spring Spruce celebrated new beginnings, fresh ideas and creative growth. Through workshops, writing activities and opportunities to share work, participants were invited to contribute to GOBS direction, explore new perspectives and connect with fellow artists.

Summer Saunter
Summer Saunter took creativity outdoors, inviting participants to explore the relationship between poetry, nature and place. Combining creative workshops, playful activities and opportunities for reflection, these relaxed summer gatherings encouraged participants to find inspiration in their surroundings and one another.

Autumnal Open Mics
Our autumn gatherings celebrated the power of sharing poetry aloud. Featuring open mic performances, opportunities for emerging and established poets to take the stage, and plenty of space for conversation, these events brought the community together to celebrate creative expression and the changing seasons.
