GOBS Community Workshop Programmes 2025

GOBS Collective delivered creative writing and poetry workshops in partnership with schools, community organisations and youth services across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, making creative expression accessible to people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences.

Through collaborative writing exercises, group discussions and opportunities to share work, our workshops encouraged participants to explore their creativity, develop confidence and find their voices. Each programme was tailored to the needs of its participants, creating welcoming, supportive environments where people could experiment, express themselves and connect with others.

Archway Learning Trust – Secondary School Workshops
In collaboration with Young Creatives Nottingham, GOBS Collective delivered creative writing and performance workshops for a group of year-nine students at Bluecoat Wollaton within Archway Learning Trust. The sessions encouraged young people to explore their identities, experiences and ideas through creative expression, building confidence in their writing and communication skills, culminating at a special showcase as part of the Young Creative Awards 2025 on Nottingham Playhouse’s Main Stage.

Headway Nottingham
GOBS Collective delivered creative writing workshops in partnership with Headway Nottingham, supporting people affected by acquired brain injury to explore poetry, storytelling and self-expression. Through accessible, participant-led activities, the sessions created opportunities for creativity, connection and confidence-building, celebrating the unique perspectives and experiences of those taking part. The celebratory showcase event took place at GOBS 2025 Spring Spruce, with an audience of GOBS Collective members at City Arts Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Youth Service
Working with Nottinghamshire Youth Service, GOBS Collective delivered creative writing and poetry workshops for a group of 7-11 year-olds, providing opportunities to develop their creative skills, explore personal experiences and share their ideas. The sessions encouraged experimentation, self-expression and collaboration in a supportive environment, culminating in an anthology launch and performance showcase at a Nottinghamshire youth centre.
