GOBS is a poetry network built around connection, compassion, and craft. There are lots of ways to be part of what we do — whether you come to listen, share, create, or collaborate.

How you can be involved in GOBS

As part of
GOBS Collective

The Collective is an active group of artists and organisers who help shape GOBS’s creative and strategic direction.

Membership is by invitation, based on professionalism, community contributions, and alignment with our values.

Collective members:

  • Lead or co-create events, workshops, and artistic programmes.

  • Take part in creative leadership and professional development opportunities.

  • Contribute to GOBS’s decision-making and organisational growth.

  • Act as ambassadors for our mission and values.

  • Support the delivery of our artistic and community offers.

The Collective is for artists who want to play an active part in shaping and sustaining GOBS’s creative future.

As part of the
GOBS Community

Our Community is the heart of GOBS — a space to grow creatively, make connections, and feel supported.

After attending one of our events, you can register as a GOBS Community Member. There’s the option to join our WhatsApp group, subscribe to our Community newsletter, hear about creative opportunities, and get involved on a deeper level.

  • Take part in open mics, workshops, our GOBS Poetry Book Club, and community gatherings.

  • Share your work, collaborate, and connect with others in a welcoming space.

  • Help shape what we do by offering feedback, ideas, and participation.

  • Donate or contribute through our optional Pay What You Can tickets to support access, artists, and events.

  • Be part of an inclusive, and creative network rooted in Nottingham.
